Build a career trying cases
Boland Aarab PLLP is a Great Falls trial firm that represents injured people and consumers across Montana. We prepare every case as if it will be tried, because some of them will be. If you want to be in the courtroom, we want to hear from you.
Why Boland Aarab
We are a trial firm
Our lawyers have tried more than a dozen jury trials and spent more than 4,000 hours in the courtroom. You will learn to try cases by working on cases that go to trial.
State and federal, trial and appeal
We have handled more than 40 cases in the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana over the past nine years, argued twice before the Ninth Circuit, and built an appellate record that reaches back to 1977.
A statewide practice from Great Falls
Our office is in downtown Great Falls, and our cases come from across Montana. You get courtroom work throughout the state without big-city overhead or commutes.
A partner mentor for every associate
Every associate is paired with a partner who mentors them on their cases and in the courtroom. Everyone works directly with the lawyers who try the case, and your work shows up in the result.

Associate Attorney
We are looking for a lawyer who wants to try cases, and who wants to do it in Great Falls. This is an in-office position in downtown Great Falls. You must live in the Great Falls area or be ready to move here.
A partner mentor. Every associate is paired with one of the firm’s partners as a mentor, who works alongside you on your cases and in the courtroom and is responsible for your development as a trial lawyer.
What you will do. Our associates are litigators from day one. Working directly with the partners, you will:
- Handle cases from intake through verdict: investigation, pleadings, written discovery and motion practice;
- Take and defend depositions, including of experts, adjusters and corporate witnesses;
- Research and write briefs in Montana district courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana, the Montana Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit;
- Prepare cases for trial and try them: jury selection, witnesses, exhibits and argument, first in the second chair and then in the first;
- Travel across Montana for hearings, depositions, mediations and trials.
What we expect. Trial-level preparation on every file, careful and persuasive writing, and ownership of your cases. We try cases before juries across the state, and the work is demanding. It is also the fastest way to become a trial lawyer.
We welcome applications from lawyers licensed in Montana and from those eligible for admission. To apply: cover letter, résumé, law school transcript and a writing sample, preferably a brief or motion you wrote.
Why Great Falls
A river town with room to breathe
Great Falls sits on the Missouri River, with the River’s Edge Trail running through town along the water and Giant Springs State Park on the edge of it. Short commutes, real neighborhoods and a downtown you can walk.
The outdoors, close by
Blue-ribbon trout water on the Missouri upstream of town, the Rocky Mountain Front to the west, skiing in the Little Belt Mountains, and Glacier National Park within a day trip.
History and community
Home of the C.M. Russell Museum and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, Malmstrom Air Force Base and a regional medical center. A city large enough to have what you need and small enough to know your neighbors.
The center of Montana practice
From Great Falls we reach courtrooms across the state, and the U.S. District Court sits in the city. You build a statewide trial practice without leaving a place you want to live.
Law clerks and summer positions
We hire law clerks and summer clerks, and our positions are open to students in every class year. Clerk positions are in person at our Great Falls office. Clerks do real work on active cases: research and writing on live issues in state and federal court and, where appropriate, attending depositions, hearings and trial. We will consider arrangements for school credit together with your law school. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
To apply: cover letter, résumé, law school transcript and a short writing sample.
